THERE’S NO PRESSURE!

Drumroll please!!!!! Yes, drumrolls because I’m excited that I finally get to post here. I’d written a couple of things but didn’t get to post them here

I genuinely pray this equips you better even on this intentional journey of yours. Amen!

Falling far off track

I’m constantly preaching kindness, Grace and Forgiveness but I was recently confronted with the reality that I needed to practice the same and trust me it was HARD.

I recently came across my old journal where I wrote my goals, ambitions and Whys, notes from my best friend (all love, affirmation and promises) and I just began to cry because how did I fall so far off track? How did I let it happen? How didn’t I realize how fast time goes by? In that moment I had so many questions.

‘You don’t have to be perfect’ is a phrase we hear often but many of us still find ourselves feeling the pressure and guilt of not being perfect. I know a lot of people already have their opinion on the first phrase but please keep on reading.

Could some mistakes be avoided? Yes, but at the time it happened it seemed like the right choice. I mean, if I knew better, I would have done better

Is it okay to feel hurt? Yes it is, we are human and we have feelings but what is not okay is beating yourself up. Cut yourself some slack and allow God teach your heart kindness.

In 2021, I beat myself up about something that had happened and I was really hurting. Months went by and I was still hurting. On some days it would hit so hard that I wouldn’t be able to get things done for that day.

I attended a meeting (believer’s time out) in April 2022, and it was in that meeting the guest speaker walked up to me and told me God wants me to forgive myself and that He genuinely loves me and wants to extend his Grace to me and I need to be receptive. Why the story? We are all a work in progress and God loves our perfections and imperfections. We need to live with the consciousness that God loves us and that we need Him to get to that point we desire. It is in Him we find strength to be kind to ourselves.

This applies to our spiritual life as well. A lot people are bounded by the lie: I have to do something to earn God’s love….

There’s no such thing as ‘God will love me when’. There’s no exchange for God’s love (2Corinthians 5: 21). You need to comprehend that He could love your weakness, shortcoming, failures.

‘I don’t qualify now, I’ll go to Him when I qualify’ I hear you clearly but I also need you to hear me, There’s no qualification to go to God. He is not looking for your qualification, but your willingness, obedience, and genuine desire.

In the parable of the prodigal son, the father saw his son returning while he was still far off but he didn’t lock door. Instead, he welcomed his son (Luke 15:20) The father was so happy and relief at seeing his son that he did not even reject or rebuke him. Instead, the father instructed his slaves to bring out the best rob for sin and to put a ring on his hand and a sandal on his feet (Luke 15:22-24)

The beauty about serving God is knowing that you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be willing to allow him to use you and to have an open heart towards Him so that He may enter in.

A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. Proverbs 16:9

When He hears you calling out to Him then He’ll respond to you. Take out time to unplug from the noise of the world and listen to what your father has to say to you.

ABBA LOVES YOU
