Relocating/Moving to a new city.

It’s been a while since I last published a blog post and I apologize. Trust you all have been doing great. It’s been a whole process of evolving and growing. I pray you enjoy this read 💜

Earlier this year I moved to a new city (PORTHARCOURT CITY) for my service year and it hasn’t been the easiest journey so far. I mean, I’m in a city where I literally have no one (lol), a city where the places look alike, a city where I either have to ask strangers for directions to certain places or ask my goggle map. 

Truthfully, you’ll never really understand how much money your parents spend in a day until you start living on your own. What confuses me more is how expensive things are in the market or is it that the sellers look at me and detect that I don’t really know the price of things and they decide to cheat me😭because I spend too much money for the little quantity of food that I make.

Adulting isn’t for the weak and Portharcourt isn’t for the weak. The sun in Portharcourt is different from the sun that shines in every other place😭

Not to talk about the cost of rent and the cost of transportation. My God! 

Adulting is ghetto and honestly, I’m learning and would take you guys along with me on this journey.

Here’s three things that kept me broke this month;

1. Spending my salary before it lands. My darlings, please never spend your paycheck before it lands into your account, you probably would cry afterwards
2. Lack of discipline. Adulting is teaching me the difference between wants and needs. I mean I knew the difference in terms of definition but now I know the difference in terms of actuality. My darling and my fellow 20’s, just because you WANT that dress doesn’t mean you NEED that dress okay?
3. I couldn’t say NO but I’m learning now. Just say NO where necessary.
